Articles Telling Us to live Within Our Means Always Forget Something
Just came across this story on Yahoo! about taking a money challenge and people spending more than they should. While some valid points such as getting accustomed to not looking at the account balance and the ease of using debit and credit cards as well as buying a coffee and other stuff, something wasn't mentioned.
Many companies(no matter which industry) hire part-time workers hiring very little or no full-time workers so if a person has one part-time job then he or she is not working 40 hours per week and has no choice but to go beyond his or her budget if they wish to pay the rent, buy groceries(been there done that).
As for not buying coffee at coffee shops which I often hear people tell me I shouldn't, I often did. Reason being I got tired of sitting at home in a 1-room apartment and went to the local coffee shop(which recently closed down)to get out of my place and to talk to people.
The coffee shop issue aside let's get back to that first part. Employers working part-time. In today's economy it is so unrealistic that if an employee had full-time work and companies hire full-time from Day 1, sure it'll still be tough with expenses but it would also be much easier to stay within your means financially. I think so anyways.
