Articles Telling Us to live Within Our Means Always Forget Something

Posted on 2007-05-18

Just came across this story on Yahoo! about taking a money challenge and people spending more than they should. While some valid points such as getting accustomed to not looking at the account balance and the ease of using debit and credit cards as well as buying a coffee and other stuff, something wasn't mentioned.

Many companies(no matter which industry) hire part-time workers hiring very little or no full-time workers so if a person has one part-time job then he or she is not working 40 hours per week and has no choice but to go beyond his or her budget if they wish to pay the rent, buy groceries(been there done that).

As for not buying coffee at coffee shops which I often hear people tell me I shouldn't, I often did. Reason being I got tired of sitting at home in a 1-room apartment and went to the local coffee shop(which recently closed down)to get out of my place and to talk to people.

The coffee shop issue aside let's get back to that first part. Employers working part-time. In today's economy it is so unrealistic that if an employee had full-time work and companies hire full-time from Day 1, sure it'll still be tough with expenses but it would also be much easier to stay within your means financially. I think so anyways.

No Comments From Me

Posted on 2007-05-18

No comments from me? That'll be the day. Even in my grave(and I've got many years ahead of me--knock on wood)no one will be able to shut me up. Actually when I say "no comments from me" I'm referring to the folks who reply to my posts.

Whether I agree or disagree with you I won't post a reply to your comment on my comment page because in a way since I want to be a newspaper columnist I consider your reply to my post like YOUR Letter to the Editor. Other than the Canadian Sun newspapers no other paper replies after the reader's comment giving YOU the last word. Just so you won't think I'm igoring you.

Vitamin B-12 May Prevent Spina Bifida?

Posted on 2007-05-18

It's been said that Vitamin B12 along with folic acid can help prevent Spina Bifida. Don't know if it's true or not but for those of you who may be interested here's a link to one story which still leaves me wondering if it's good or bad : http://www.channel4.com/health/microsites/0-9/4health/food/fma_folic.html.

Paris Hilton's Sentence Reduced

Posted on 2007-05-18

This morning trying to catch up on the news--I recorded many news shows on my VCR--they said that Paris Hilton who was originally scheduled to be in jail for 45 days for drunk-driving and driving without a license now has her sentence reduced to 23 days. Sure why not? I'd love to hear the politicians speaking out on this insisting she serve her full 45 days. Should've been more. Of course not one government official has the guts to take on the very wealthy Hilton family.

I'd Love to Hear From You

Posted on 2007-05-18

Some days I should've stayed in bed and never got out. And today's one of them. Yesterday I created a new blog on Blogger. Never had problems with numerous blogs I've got all over various sites throughtout the years. Today when i tried accessing my new Blogger account to post more comments it wouldn't allow me to access my account.

"No such user" exists I was told. Oh really? then how come in the email(which i saved by the way)I see I'm using the correct username and password and email address and if my user name doesn't exist then how was I able to post 2 comments on Blogger at http://almostanewspapercolumnist.blogspot.com/.

Ahhh! Now I feel better getting that off my chest. Anyways I love to write as a hobby and though I'd love to hear from everyone I'd especially love to hear from you if you live in Mississauga.

So, what's on your mind? I'd love to hear from you.
